Ball of Confusion
I didn't know much about the Vietnam war going on at the time, but the song lyrics did seem to be a political statement about the chaos and disorder of the times. The repeated use of the phrase "and the band played on" suggested that people ("the establishment") were not paying attention to world problems like racial tension, white flight, and segregation in northern cities like Detroit.
Ball of Confusion is a song that seems to describe our world today. The country is deeply divided politically and the world is facing climate change crises, famine in many countries, escalating wars and environmental collapse. Some people believe we are living in the end times described in the Bible as they see an increase in wars, famines, plagues and natural disasters.
We who believe in the God of the Bible do not lose hope and wallow around in despair. We believe that events are falling into place in God's plan and timing. Among us today are many champions of the Christian faith who demonstrate, logic, intelligence, and startling proofs of the existence of God. Listed below are some of my favorite defenders of the faith. They have certainly straightened out a lot of my confusion about Christianity. May God richly bless them always!
